CO2RR

A world-wide more growing concern is the rising levels of CO2 that leads to devastating consequences to our environment. Beside reducing the level of CO2 emissions, one alternative strategy is the electrochemical conversion of CO2 into added value chemicals, such as CO, HCOOH, C2H5OH, CH4, and more which can serve for several applications from versatile chemical intermediates, preservatives, cosmetics etc. However, the conversion process is not easy since CO2 is a stable molecule, and its electrochemical reduction requires a suitable catalyst, able to lead to high selectivity and faradaic efficiency towards specific products, in a sustainable way.

In our group we focus on copper-based electrocatalyst choice for the conversion of CO2 into C2+ molecules. Using different strategies, we tune composition and crystallinity of our final material.
